A HARDSTONE-EMBELLISHED PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE CIRCULAR TABLE SCREEN

19TH-20TH CENTURY

The screen is applied to one side with carved lapis lazuli, agate and soapstone embellishments to depict a scene of two rabbits on a rock beside a pine tree. The reverse is decorated in gilt with a butterfly beside several tall chrysanthemum sprays. The stone is of an even tone with some minor pale streaked inclusions. 10 in. (25.4 cm.) diam.
