Serial Number 7 Canada Bank of Canada $20 1935 BC-10 French Text PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Canada's 1935 series of banknotes issued from the newly-formed Bank of Canada featured various members of the British Royal Family. The 20 Dollar denomination featured King George V's granddaughter, Elizabeth. Princess Elizabeth's grandfather passed away in 1936, and her uncle abdicated the throne in the same year, leading to her father to become King George VI. His passing in 1952 ushered in a 70 year reign by Queen Elizabeth II. By a number of extraordinary events, the 7 year old young Princess Elizabeth would eventually become arguably Britain's most endearing monarch. The number "7" is the the theme of this lot, as it is the age of Elizabeth when portrayed on this note, but it is also the serial number of this French-text note. A very rare type note in any grade, and extraordinary with such a fantastic and important serial number. A crowning banknote in any Commonwealth collection.
