1869-S $20 AU55 NGC. CAC. Despite a substantial mintage of 686,750 pieces, the 1869-S Liberty double eagle becomes a scarce issue at the AU55 grade level, and Mint State coins are definitely elusive. This impressive Choice AU example exhibits only light wear on the well-detailed design elements, with a touch of the usual softness on the stars on the left.
